Situation.
I have a button (graphic) that I want to link to a basic page using the variable category in EE.
The link looks like:
a href=“{path=“area/index”}”>{category_name} </a
Is there a way I can put this into FW link dialog?

You may have to use Crowbar for that. You could try linking the page as you normally would do with a normal HTML page by first selecting the {category_name} and then going to ‘Edit > Hyperlink’
Chances are you’d have to use Crowbar though, that’s what I typically do. So your code would look like:
<a href="{path='area/index'}" title="{category_name}">{category_name}</a>

Sometimes we tend to make things more complex. I completely overlooked the simplest solution, the direct link to the category: mywebsite.com is available for purchase - Sedo.com

Right, that would work if you used a single category, but if you wanted to list out multiple categories and link to a single template to show items related to that category then you’d have to use my highlighted way.
Either way you got it figured out and that’s most important.
