Hi Peter,
I doubt it would work consistently for it to be worth doing. A lot of mail clients don’t like embedded rich media (mp3s, Flash, video etc) so you often see emails that contain what look like videos or music players and when you click on them they simply open a web page that offers the full deal.

I found this plug-in for Firefox that allows GMail users to play SoundCloud content from their emails;
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/soundcloud-sounds-in-google/
but I suspect that GMail users who will want to download and install the plug-in in Firefox will be a tiny fraction of your audience.

Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

thanks, I’ve done a workaround with a link to the soundcloud page via the single cover.

However the graphic jpg is not showing up in the mail I send out

is there anything I’m doing wrong?

vheers

Hi Peter,
Unlike web pages HTML emails have to use absolute links to any images they contain (OK, so technically there are ways you can do this but I’m not going to confuse things by opening that can or worms here). Depending on how you are creating your HTML email content you can use either the Create Email Action that ships with Freeway or the Remote Resources Action (http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=013) to make relative paths to your images absolute.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

sorted it. I opened a new html template from the new documents window and built a page from there.

Worked a treat with graphics etc.

thanks for all your help.

Cheers

Peter

Hey all,
I’ve downloaded the soundcloud add-on for firefox so I can embed the track on gmail, but I don’t know how to actually use it.

Would someone advice on how to active it, step by step please?

Thanks in advance.
