Error from Automator workflow - unable to open files

I’ve set up an Automator workflow with one action in it:
“Open Images in Intaglio”

However, when the workflow is run with some sample SVG vector images, Intaglio reports the following error alert:

“Can’t complete this command.
Unknown type”
with one button: Cancel

Even though I can drag and drop the same image onto Intaglio and it will open.

Any ideas?

I am running Mac OS 10.8.0

Basically, I am trying to recreate the “Convert to PDF” droplet that comes with the app but that can no longer be run because it is a PPC app.
