I was wondering if it was possible to have one example of each of the Actions Forge actions someplace, either in a thread here or perhaps on the Actions Forge site.
It would be helpful to see, obviously, if one doesn’t know what they do. No need for fifteen examples of each, just one would be enough to give an idea. And some might not be really doable, I understand that.
It this a good idea? If so would it be better as a thread here, or on the Forge site?
Mark, that sounds like an interesting project… are you willing to volunteer?

A lot of the ActionsForge actions do have links to demo pages - for some a demo is not possible as there is nothing to see.
If you come across an action for which you would like to see a demo if you then add a Comment at ActionsForge the action developer will be notified of your interest and have the opportunity to post a link or email you one.
I think more than a “demo”, what is being asked for is a brief tutorial - a
“how to” instruction-ish bit.
I’ve secretly wanted the same thing myself… As someone who has avoided
actions, I find the process mysterious when I eventually try them. The
problem as you know, this is a self-led volunteer community – with more of
a sense of what should happen than one of how to make it happen.

I’d be delighted to volunteer to do it, but it sounds like many of them already have them. Or that the thing to do is to ask to have them added to their descriptions.
This came from reading everyone talking about Carousel and there isn’t anything on the Forge page which shows what it does, so I don’t know if it’s something I should know or not. Other than trying it and seeing what it does, I suppose.
Action developers can add a link to a demo site as part of the description body, or as a specific Demo Link attribute in the Action’s database record. I would say that (based on personal experience) making these is often the last thing you think of or have time to do. If you find an Action that you really like, take some time to figure out how to use it and make a demo. The developer will thank you profusely for sending them a link!
