Examples of Photography websites

I’m not sure where to post this so thought it would cause least offence here

Could someone point me to some reasonable simple sites created in Freeway showcasing photography please ?

Thank you
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

You could browse through the Freeway gallery for numerous examples:
http://www.softpress.com/gallery/index.php

Here are some I’ve done:

http://www.rpscontemporary.org/

http://www.simonnicholaswhite.com/
http://www.larkphoto.co.uk/
I’ve just uploaded an updated version of the last on the list that incorporates some e-commerce (still some bits to fix).

Hello Seoras,
Thanks for the links - are you an RPSmember by any chance? I recently rejoined after a long gap, intending to get my Associateship in the next year.
I particularly like this site, both layout and content http://www.simonnicholaswhite.com/ beautiful images.

Not your normal kind of photography, but this site was designed in
Freeway to showcase some of my work:

No. I just designed and update their contemporary group website. Good group of people.
Good luck with the associateship.

Is it possible to make this site in Freeway Pro5 or are there additional requirements ?

Hi Caroline, long time no see

Yes, this is a pretty simple site, and shouldn’t be any trouble at all
in Freeway. You’ll need some slideshow software; there are many free
offerings on the Web, I think there was actually a thread here
recently about just that, so it might pay you to search the forum for
it.
Come to think of it, you could do most of it in Freeway without any
additional software but I think to get the transitions from one
picture to another you might need a little free something or other.
Happy to be probed wrong though, if anyone knows different …

best wishes,

Paul Bradforth

Caroline

Tak a close look at the sourcecode of this site and you will see that it is built with freeway. Just look at the css styling in the header.

In the second post of this thread, seoras pointed at some websites he has build. The one you mention is in that list. I could be wrong, but I think it’s made with Freeway.

Hi,

Just picked up on this. Yes the Simon Nicholas White website was done in Freeway 5.2. (I’m sure it could have been done with Express also) Lightroom and Slide Show Pro for the Gallery were also used.
His brief, as such was for a very simple and straight forward site, so just up my street. His previous site was actually very nice if a bit Times Roman but he wished a change.
I used SSP after much searching as a previous thread will testify. SNW was offered various options but went with SSP. With Lightroom this was an ideal solution for me as it can be updated easily and as I was supplied with circa 70 image files that were tif, jpeg and assorted sizes it was imported into lightroom and then neatly exported accordingly. Another gallery slideshow could easily be incorporated if you wished. I see Paul Bradforth uses the very nice and neat Monoslideshow http://www.monoslideshow.com/ on part of his site. This is a standalone or plugin for Lightroom program that is very reasonably priced.

Can I say that doing a ‘simple’ site can be as challenging to get it just right, besides I don’t have the skill for anything too complicated

Hope that helps, get back to me / us if not.

If you hit Apple-Option-U in Safari to view the source code, you’ll
see this, amongst other things:

.f-sp { font-size:1px; visibility:hidden } .f-lp { margin-bottom:
0px } .f-fp { margin-top:0px } .f-x1 { } .f-x2 { } .f-x3 { }
I’ve no idea what they do, but they’re Freeway-specific.

best wishes,

Paul Bradforth
