Exhibeo and Pinterest

Hi… I’m upgrading a site from iWeb to Freeway, and would like to use the Pinterest Action–but the photos I would want to have people pin are in an exhibeo gallery. (I’m currently using a Thumblie gallery).

But if I click on the Pin It button, provided through the Action, I am getting the following message:

JavaScript
Sorry, couldn’t find any pinnacle images on this page

Is there any way to use Exhibeo to display my pictures AND allow people to pin them? Do I need to switch which type of gallery I am using?

Thanks.

Hi Cara,

Interesting question. Generally people pin images when they’re looking at them, i.e. when the large image is in view. At this point the image has been loaded and can be seen by the Pinterest bookmarklet, though this does assume the visitor uses the bookmarklet!

Unfortunately there isn’t any easy way to display a Pinterest button with the large images without making changes to the application (or adding your own code), so you’ll have to rely on people using the bookmarklet for now. Adding an option to add Pinterest buttons to images is certainly something we’d consider adding in the future though.

Cheers,
Joe

Actually, it doesn’t matter whether the image is small or big–I still get the same error message.

I’m looking at it in the browser, but I haven’t published the site yet to the web. Not sure whether that makes a difference. (If I look at a page where I have just straight graphic images, I am having the same issue, actually, so maybe it does.)

I want to have this figured out before I publish.

Thanks.

Oh, yeah. You need it to be live to be able to pin.
