Experience With Shopping Cart/Store

Just wondering what people’s experiences have been when setting up an online store.

We will be selling our own books and need to set one up. Also, need something that is easy to set up, because I’m the one setting it up!

Thanks…again!

Hmm…I’m a little confused. That link takes me to a site that sells pies.

Am I missing something?

I think that what he meant to say was that the site was created with FW pro and probably uses the eShop actions

Ahhh…

I was wondering what people used to process credit cards and such. I think with Mal’s e-commerce, you need additional stuff.

I was wondering if anyone use PayPal or another service with their store set up, too.

You can use PayPal with Mal’s.

I’m working on another, but it’s not anywhere near complete yet.

Hi Robert.

I actually purchased Tim Plumb’s Mal’s-e action, so I can’t speak to the built-in e-shop in Freeway. B

ought it at 9 in the morning, and had the shop fully functional by lunch. A lot of the design work was done by then, but programming it is a piece of cake.

FW + Mal’s premium + PayPal premium

Have fun.
Andrew.

Hey, Andrew. Great site. My girlfriend and I are big dog lovers. She’s also trying to get some folks in the neighborhood to try some of her homemade dog treats.

Tim’s site seems to have very old screen shots. I guess I can ask if his stuff is up to date.

Thanks for the info.

Hi Robert
I find Mals easy enough (I’m not a techie head) and use it with paypal and
have the Freeway Mals action from Tim. The built in Freeway actions for Mals
are probably fine too - haven’t used them.
If you get stuck - ask again.
all the best
Brian

While I can’t speak for all of Tim’s actions, the Mal’s-e action works like a champ in Freeway 5.1.2 or whatever we’re at now.

There is a separate action to allow for xhtml validation. Make sure you download that from the order page and apply that to the site folder.

Good luck.
Andrew.

I was hoping they would get classified as retro any day soon!
Yes, those screen shots are getting rather long in the tooth. Rest assured that they will be getting updated soon and that the actions work perfectly in all version of Freeway from version 3. Specifically;
Freeway Pro 3,
Freeway Pro 4,
Freeway Express 4,
Freeway Pro 5 and
Freeway Express 5.
Kind regards,
Tim.

This is well done. The only thing I really don’t like about Mals is that it forces you to go back and forth to add additional items. Has that presented any problems for your customers?

This is not necessary - you can set the cart to not use this behaviour.
