[Express] CSS Menu Background Colour

Can anyone help me?

I am pretty new to Freeway but after watching the videos am able to successfully make a CSS menu. My problem is this:
I am using a jpg as my page background - in the actions box I have set the background of both MAIN and SUB menus to NOTHING and then UNCHECKED the background box. When I preview the page both in Freeway and in a browser the menu has a white background. I just want the words of the menu to sit on top of my page image. Is there any way to achieve this.

How are you adding your page background?

With nothing selected on your page look in the Inspector and under the Paintbrush Tab select your bg image using the Image picker. Set tiling to suit.

If you are doing it any other way then that is likely the cause of your problem.
