I have a menu bar with 7 columns. One of the drop down menus (products) has many more items than the others and I would like to have it turn into 2 columns instead of one when activating the drop down effect. Is there a setting for this?

No I am afraid there isnt.
I think what I would do in your case is make sub sets ie put travel and room amenities, room & body spray, candles etc under another subheading.
You could do the same with another subheading like skin/bodycare.
If you were using Pro then you could use the BAM (Big Area Menu) action to get a 2/3 column layout.
