[Express] Firefox preview

Since installing the latest version of Firefox, the Firefox preview button on the top right of the Freeway Express window only loads up Firefox, but doesn’t show the current web page that I am working on. Using the drop-down menu with the other browsers works fine, but again not with Firefox, so it must be a Firefox problem. It isn’t a big problem, just an oddity.

Any ideas?

From the Softpress KnowledgeBase:

Preview in Browser doesn’t work with Firefox 3.6
Some users may find that after updating to Firefox 3.6, they are not
able to Preview in Browser from Freeway. This is a bug in the 3.6
release of Firefox, where it is unable to open local HTML files that
have a a space in their path (bug 530064). This problem should be
resolved in a future update of Firefox.

If you are unable to Preview in Browser, make sure that there are no
spaces in your Site Folder path. You can verify your Site Folder path in
the Document Setup dialog from the File menu; you may need to change the
names of the folders in the Finder and restart Freeway.

Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the local HTML file from Finder
into a Firefox window (not in the address bar but in the window itself)
to open it. You will need to locate your Site Folder in the Finder to do this.

Thanks - I’ve posted a note to Firefox.

Ah! I’ve read the link, but my address doesn’t have any spaces in it - I was very careful about that. I copied this address from the preview in Safari

file:///Users/Graham/Documents/Website/NewIcyMaths/Site%20Folder/index.html

The only “oddball” that I can see is the % sign generated by Freeway, so I can’t see where spaces come into it. Am I missing something?

%20 is the url-encoded form of a space character. If you change that folder name to SiteFolder (no space) you will be fine. (Or, Firefox can release an update that fixes the bug.)

OK, I admit it - I’m an idiot! Thanks for bailing me out.

I’ve noticed quite a few very odd, very annoying bugs with the latest version of Firefox. I hope that it isn’t getting to be such a monsterous program that it’s no longer going to perform well like some OTHER monsterous programs out there that don’t perform well (I’m not going to name names, but it starts with a W and rhymes with “Mindows”).

Anyone else seeing a ton of bugs? I’ve become fond of Firefox, and would hate to have to leave it. Anyone tried Chrome? There IS always Safari
