Can an HTML Item background be made transparent (as is a Graphic Item).
Yes. Simply make sure the colour is set to None in the Inspector palette. Click on the item, open up the Inspector palette and click on the first tab and set the ‘color’ setting to None.
Can the space between paragraphs be reduced to “no space” instead of the default of one line.
Not easily using Express. You can do this in Pro by setting the line height in your styles but not in Express unfortunately. As an alternative to using paragraphs type shift-return which will give you a line space and will be closer to what I think you want.
How do you use “plug ins”
Plug-ins in Freeway are called Actions. The Pro version of the application can use any Action whereas Express can use a limited sub-set of these that are encoded to work with Express. You can find Actions at various places online including; http://www.actionsforge.com http://www.freewayactions.com http://www.actionsworld.com
Typically you drop the Action in a special folder on your Mac, switch back to Freeway and start adding the action to your pages.
I have started my website which can be seen at: hamrec.co.uk
Any constructive comments would be appreciated.
Good work so far on this. There are a few little things that I would change if it were me;
Change the page name from ‘home’ to something a little more meaningful as it will help with search engine ranking amongst other things
Maybe center align the page. At the moment there is a very large white gap to the right of the browser window with nothing in it.
Move the green image in the background to a real background image. At the moment I san see that it is getting split apart by the text on the page and I’m seeing large chunks of white between the blocks of green page. Select the paintbrush icon in the Inspector palette and set the image in the ‘Background’ section of the Window Background section. Now your page content will sit above the background image and won’t split it up like this.
Consider adding a background colour to your menu items. At the moment they can be a little hard to read against the page backgrounds.
I hope to upgrade to Pro soon - just trying Express to get a feel for the software.
Regards
Boyd
