[Express] Graphic items shift when window expands

I’m using a background image and graphic items for text, and while the background image stays put when I resize the browser window, the text moves around the page. I have searched everywhere online for a reason for this, but I can’t figure it out. Please help!

This is most likely due to the fact that the html boxes that the text are
(and possibly even the page size) are set as percentages and not as exact
pixel sizes. Are you using the inline method or just the standard FW way of
working?

Check your page width is set to an exact value (for example 1000px) and not
100%

If you want the page to scale with the browser but certain elements to stay
exactly fixed, they have to be contained within a box that has a fixed and
absolute size.

Also, check that you dont have RPL enable without realising it

PS: if you mean that the graphic text moves when you scroll - as opposed to
when you scale the browser - it may be caused by having the images set as
“fixed in window” instead of absolute under the general section of the
inspector

Thanks for your reply Glyn!
My background image and all the graphic text boxes are definitely set to exact pixel values. I’m using the standard FW way of working, and I don’t think RPL is available in Express.

The text seems separate from the background image, and moves across the page when I expand the window. Both html graphic items and regular ones behave the same way.

Anna, If you want to mail me directly a version or sample of your file I
will have a look at it for you and suggest a fix but I dont think I can do
it for you since I have the pro version - not sure you’d be able to open
it.

I know you say your boxes are set to exact sizes but have you double
checked that they themselves arent nested into other (outer) boxes that are
set to relative sizes?

Your background image position is set to center/top which keeps it in the middle of the browser window - however your page is not centred, hence the mis match.

Watch the size of the bg image you are using as well as it is pretty large at 650Kb

Yes, David is spot on I just checked it out. On another point, I’m nt sure that the graphic text is a greta idea as you will not feature at all well in the search engines. You can use fancy fonts with safety by using font squirrel or google fonts services. There are posts on here abut how to achieve that.

Stunning carvings by the way.
