You didn’t by chance have a TimeMachine backup running (you wouldn’t be the first to forget about having this lifesaver aside), does your machine have a ‘back to my mac’ copy in the cloud? Is your projects folder perhaps stored in iCloud or Dropbox? Either one of these options could help you out.
If not … you have to start from scratch. But please use any (or all) of the above options from now on.
