[Express] No Graphics

I have successfully created and uploaded a 12 page website in Freeway Express 5. The website has a consistent master page throughout consisting of graphics, photographs and text etc. I now wish to amend a single page, however when I upload the page, there are no master page graphics, photos or text displayed. Do i have to upload the complete site again?

Thanks

Which page has the missing graphics - they all look OK to me.

Are you manually uploading a single html page - if so then the image Resources may well have changed their names and yes you will at the least need to upload the Resources folder and its contents.

Hi Dave. Thanks for your reply. The reason the site looked OK was because I replaced the faulty page back with the original when it did not display correctly!

You suggested replacing the resources folder. Can you explain what difference this would make? I ask because the same elements (photo’s, graphics etc) are already in the existing recourses folder?

Thanks

They may look the same but FW creates new graphics every time a page is changed and may change its name from item22.jpeg to item23.jpeg and this will break the link from what is in the html to what is in the Resources folder.

ie if you have only uploaded the html page then the page could be looking for item23.jpeg which does not exist in the old Resources folder.

There is no good reason NOT use the inbuilt FW upload mechanism - it is very robust and ensures that the html code always ties up with what is in the Resources folder.

Hi Dave. Your solution worked a treat. I used Cyberduck to upload and the website went up easily.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

If you use FW to upload then only what is changed will be uploaded.
