[Express] page shift on click on page name

at http://home.comcast.net/~arellano89/index.html
(a test site on line) clicking on 3 page titles causes
the screen (page) to shift about 1/16 inch different than the other 19 pages…
the 3 page titles are Welcome, Awareness, Perspective

Hours reviewing the Working With Pages, testing this and that has achieved no success. All have material on them while the others no material. Why would that make the page shift if it does.

I find a difference on the perspective page between the ftp uploaded page on the internet and the “browser” selection in FW Express. It moves on the internet, not on FW browser

Any ideas of what’s causing that page shift sideways. Adding a html box on the Learn page did NOT affect it.

See the other thread for the answer but for 1st time visitors the shift is caused by some pages being tall enough that they have scroll bars the rest do not.

how does the user find and/or see the scroll bars?
Or even know they exist?

Not sure I understand your question. Scroll bars are automatically created by the browser if a page is too tall (or wide) to fit within the viewing window.

Okay… Verified what you said; but I’d not understood… I was looking for a scroll bar IN FW not on right in Safari and FireFox - assuming you meant some NEWLY created bar, not the one always in a web browser.

Then deleted one page, recreated a new page; made sure all pages exactly same, no data, just header and html CSS page list; saved, published and viewed in browser. Created html box and increased it until the browser right hand scroll bar appeared at 650 pixels.

So if html or graphic on the page past 660 pixel depth it will always show a scroll bar IN the browser without the shifting of the page selection. Whew!!!

Reduced page width to 750 after re-reading the FW
documents. I prefer the user scroll down, not sideways.

Thanks for your patience. it’s appreciated

If I create page content in one Freeway file (call it FreewayTest) is it possible to copy a completed PAGE from the Site panel and paste it into a different Freeway file (call it FreewayONline?

If not is there a different way of accomplishing the same, that is: Create and work in one version and import or whatever into the one I upload?

Yes. Click on the page name in the site pane of the donor document, copy, then switch to your second document and paste. The only thing that will not transfer is the filename of the page. If you had manually set that to something significant, it will be restored to whatever the “automatic” filename would be.

If you look at current Browser usage statistics you will see that the vast majority of visitors are using monitors with a width of 1024px and greater. So no sideways scrolling required.

The proportion with monitors sub 800 these days is minuscule.

Remember that as a rule mobile browsers will rescale the page so they don’t really count.

DIFFERENT SHIFT PROBLEM.
in preview (and preview in browser) all content BELOW THE HEADERBAR on each page of a new URL setup shifts left 23 px.
The result is the page names are flush left to the page instead of where they are in the actual page. By comparing placement of print it’s obvious the entire material below the header is shifting left 23 pix on publishing… This does NOT occur in 3 other sites I’ve created in which the header bar is horizontal.

each of 5 pages is set to master.
Temporarily it can be seen at http://mel.machighway.com/~jakeandm/
