[Express] Placement of HTML code

viewing the website, there is no tracking code for google.

You need to look down at the bottom of the HTML code in the published page. The code is inserted there.

I have the code but how do I get it into the page BEFORE the body?

As mentioned before, you DON’T use the HTML code that Google provides. The good news? You just apply the Google Analytics action to your page, put your site ID code into the right field in the Actions palette, and that’s it. Freeway takes care of the rest.

That was the good news. And now, the even better news: you have done this, and your home page shows the right code in the HTML. Give it a day and then see how the site is doing in Google Analytics…

<script type="text/javascript">
	var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
	document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
	var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-13117656-1");
	pageTracker._initData();
	pageTracker._trackPageview();
</script>
</body>
</html>

As Keith says give it a while to collect some info - it doesn’t happen straight away.
