[Express] PREVIEW page shift- WHY?

In preview (and preview in browser and if uploaded) all the page content BELOW THE HEADERBAR shifts left 23 px from what it is in the ‘Page’ selection.

Page names become flush left to the page instead of where they are in the actual page which is six key strokes from the left margin. The html frame is 142 pixel wide in ‘page’ view but trucates in preview view. By comparing placement of other print on the page it’s obvious the the entire material below the header is shifting left 23 pix on publishing. Why? This does NOT occur in 3 other sites in which the header bar is horizontal.

each of 5 pages is set to master. Temporarily it can be seen at http://mel.machighway.com/~jakeandm/

Are you trying to space text in from the left using space characters?

If so then this doesn’t work in Html as 6 spaces are treated as 1. You will need to use a non-breaking space if you want to do that. Opt+Space like here.

Why not centre your page as it looks very narrow on a modern monitor of which the average size is greater than 1024px wide these days. Far better to have a page width of 960px to allow for scroll bar widths etc.
