Expression Engine 2.0

This is aimed at Joe M.:

I’m sure it’s too early to know for certain, but with a ground-up
rewrite in the works for EE using the CodeIgniter framework I’m
wondering if this will affect the EE action suite?

I’m not Joe M. (obviously) but reply anyway…
As with all major changes in software, one has to decide. My sites that are running the 1.xx versions of EE are okey as they are. Ee as it is now is a very stable and reliable ‘platform’. EE version 2.xx promises to be a whole different beast. I am using several extensions and plug-ins that may or might not survive the transition. Best is, I think, just let my current sites use EE 1.xx (and the current version of Muscara’s action) but for new sites I’ll use EE 2.xx (as soon as EE 2.xx appears to be stable enough that is.)
I hope (…Joe?) that EE ActionSuite 2.xx can be used aside of EE ActionSuite 1.xx. So I can choose from within FW which version I use.

Like that?

atelier’s advice is good. I know many of us like to jump on the upgrade bandwagon, myself included. Sometimes it’s wise to stick with what works at least until you’re sure the new version will work or you can take the time to fix whatever issues may come up with the transition.

As far as how EE 2.0 will affect the EE Action Suite, we will not know until we get our hands on the new EE.

That’s what I thought, just wondering. Since I’m not upgrading from an
earlier version of EE I may take a run at it as soon as it’s unleashed
but you’re right, it’s good to wait if you are upgrading.
