Hi chaps, In my continuing desire to get my head around SEO I understand that ‘external links’ are pretty important, so in Google’s webmaster tools external links are listed, I have 2 questions.
Not all the external links I think I have created are there eg - a couple of sites I’ve built for other people on which I have added a ‘site made by’ link back to me are not listed.
There seem to be a lot of external links from Hot UK Deals a site I browse occasionally and have contributed to and am therefore registered with, I’m registered with dozens of sites (Facebook and Utube to name a couple) and they don’t appear in the Google external links list.
Any advice welcome please Roger

Roger,
I thinking that not all Links will be considered by Google as relevant
and list them. I noticed that the amount of links into various site
have dropped off, even though I know a link exists. (A link from a
site about plumbing to a fly fishing site is probably not relevant)
Also links from sites can use the rel attribute HTML a rel Attribute
and put in a no-follow tag or other rel attributes
Using the rel attribute is so they try and manage the Google link
juice going away from (or coming to) their sites
