Facebook link to my website

Can you help… when I post my web address on my Facebook page it seems to randomly link to an element on the home page. Can anyone advise how to control this? Thank you. Simon

Hi Simon,
Yes you can tell Facebook to use an image, video or sound file as a representative item for the page. This gets displayed next to the Facebook post. If you don’t specify anything Facebook grabs what it thinks is the best image on the page which may or may not be the right one.

Add the Facebook Like Action to your page (if you haven’t already) and then add the Meta Plus Action (http://actionsforge.com/actions/meta-plus). Right at the bottom of the Actions palette you’ll see options to specify an image, video or audio file for Facebook to use should someone ‘like’ your page.

Hi Simon,

  1. Download and install the Meta Plus Action (http://actionsforge.com/actions/meta-plus)
  2. Go to Page > Page Actions > Meta Plus to apply the Action to the page
  3. In the Facebook settings section choose an image using the ‘Thumbnail image’ control
  4. Ignore the fact that I said you need to apply the Facebook like Button Action and that the Meta Plus Action also says this
  5. Publish & upload
  6. Now when you share a link to your site on Facebook it should locate the thumbnail image defined in step 3 and display this next to the link

Hi Tim,

I followed exactly what you said above about installing the action and choosing the image, but my image does not show in FB when I enter the URL. It shows 2 other odd images from the page. Will this still work WIth Freeway 6?

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
