Wondering what the current norms are for this? I have used Tim’s action in the past, but I’m not sure that it’s up to date for ico formats and varying sizes.
What should I be doing?

I use this website now to generate a whole series of favicons - http://realfavicongenerator.net/
Then I paste the code into the pages and upload the files downloaded from the website.

I like http://www.favicomatic.com similar as Gordon’s just paste the code into the pages and upload the files downloaded from the website.

Thanks for the pointers Matt, Gordon.
I’ve seen that Safari is using SVG for their ‘pinned’ tabs. Anyone know if there are other areas where the norms are shifting? Is having these sites make the icons the best way to ensure the best quality of favicon?
