Feature request

Hi Nick,

I have a few feature requests:

(1) Possibility of defining custom page margins. For example, I use Intaglio to make drawings for patent applications, and there is a need for 1 inch margins on all sides. Currently it is a pain to make sure that the margins are correct.

(2) Possibility of defining headers and footers, just like in word processors. It would be nice to customize the location, distance to the margins, etc. Things like page number and total number of pages should be automatically available for easy insertion.

(3) When saved as PDF, the margins, headers and footers, etc, should all be exactly the same as in the Intaglio file.

(4) On a drawing with several pages, it would be useful to be able to reorder pages and remove a page from the middle and the rest should re-adjust automatically.

(5) Saving files in other formats, for example as PDF, should be done from an “export” command. This is because “save as” remembers the last format.

From personal experience, it is too easy to save a file the wrong format.

(6) Possibility of turning a text field into a hyperlink, and the link should be active when the contents of the page are saved as PDF.

That is it for the moment.
I hope these features are not too difficult or time consuming to implement.

Thank you, and keep up the good work.

CA

FWIW, you can create custom page sizes using the standard “Page Setup” dialog. This lets you specify whatever margins you wish.

Nick,

I was not aware of that possibility to customize the margins. Thanks for tip.

However, when you have a drawing with several pages, even when you select to show the page breaks, the margins between pages are not displayed.

I think that, if one selects the “Show Page Margins” option, it would make sense to show on screen the margins between pages.

Often I use a single file with multiple pages with all the different drawings from a single project, and it would be very convenient to be able to see the margins in each page.

Thanks,
CA

Hi every body,

I don’t find any table of all existing keys-tools-mouse combinations
such as option-click-scissors ; is there one ? it would be very fine !

The possibility to customize the interface, i.e. to change the
existing shortcuts and to add new ones, eg for “objets>tracés
vectoriels> séparer” would be very nice to ; and also more
facultative buttons for current functions.

Hi jacques,
You may using:
System Preferences>Keyboard & Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts
Jump to the end of the list and add your own shortcuts for any app.
Be sure to type in the menu item label as it’s in the app (in particular ellipsis (…) is not three dots by… ellipsis (Option-;)).
Hope this helps.

It’s always what I’m already doing, but it’s not so convenient as on
using RagTime where I can set my prefered shortcuts directly in the
software
