Has anyone discovered an alternative to flash that’s viewable on smart phones, beside Java script or animated gif ? Simple transitions like fades would do. Suggestions appreciated.

If this phone is an iPhone or a really really really recent Android
phone, you can use CSS3 transitions there, because it’s WebKit (like
Safari) and easily one of the most sophisticated browsers out there.
Have a look on ActionsForge for the CSS3 Actions. There’s at least one
that does wizzy effects.

Another suggestion,
We have purchased Hype, available from the Apple Ap store. It outputs HTML 5 with compatibility for older browsers. So far it has been awesome. That is it is super simple for our designer, the next test is to put what it output through some serious soak testing.
