flurry action not working since latest update.

Hello, Just wondered if anyone else had any problems with the flurry action since the latest update.
It is installed but does not show up in the actions menu.
Any help most welcome.

Have you tried applying it to a graphic item from the item menu? (select the graphic item first)

Hello David,
the flurry action does not appear on the action list.
It is ticked and active in the edit actions list which I assume means it is installed properly.
I have tried it in a barnd new freeway file and its the same so I assume that its an installation problem rather than a particular file issue.

Any other ideas are most welcome.
Cheers

Forgive my ignorance here but what is the Flurry action - what does it do?

It generates a “snow fall” effect using whatever graphic item you designate. Here is the action page with an example: http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=028

Hello Mr Hoo,
If it doesn’t work… move on. This will do the same job but just a lot better, check out the link, no probs in Freeway!

Yes I see - I also have used a Javascript method in the past for a customer who wanted it for “this time of year”

Hello Pete and everyone else. Thanks for your suggestions.
I do like the interactive side of the snowstorm but I’m afraid I’m not too sure about how to implement it in Freeway. Any help would be most appreciated. With any luck I might get it sorted before the festive season is over!
Are there any potential conflicts at all with other actions or whatever?

Cheers

I did actually resolve my problem with the flurry action but now am more keen to use the snowstorm script.
Th flurry action was causing the page it was on to become very erratic and jerky.

Just revisited this for you

Download the files from JavaScript Snow: DHTML Snowstorm. Making it snow on the internets since 2003. - 2 main folders ‘image’ and ‘script’ should FTP’d to your site and the following code pasted into Page>HTML Markup before /head

<script type="text/javascript" src="script/snowstorm.js"></script>

Configure the settings in script/snowstorm.js before you FTP

Hi, here is a breakdown for you as per Dave’s comments,
best you start like this…

you will need a FTP program first. Download Cyberduck
http://cyberduck.ch/

In Cyberduck Click “Open Connection” and put the same details you have in the Freeway Upload like…
SERVER:
USER NAME:
PASSWORD:

Browse your server with Cyberduck and see all the folders & files you had uploaded with Freeway.

Download SnowStorm v 1.3

You only need 2 FOLDERS from the Snowstorm download, they are:
IMAGE & SCRIPT

You now need to drag these Two Folders into Cyberduck to upload to your server, make sure you drag them to the main folder that contains all your Freeway files.

Last step… go back to Freeway, go to your page that you want the SnowStorm effect to appear.

Go to PAGE, HTML Markup and past in

This goes into “Before ”

Upload your Freeway page again, open your browser and you will see SnowStorm working on your webpage.

Hope this helps, Merry Christmas Mr Hoo.
