Font is changed automatically???

Hi all.

I just moved from a Dual G5 under OS X 10.4.10 to an iMac under OS X 10.5.6.

In trying to use several old documents created with Intaglio (I’m currently on version 2.9.7), I find that several text objects are not in the same font that they used to be!

They’ve been changed to Geneva! They used to be, for instance, in Courier New (Bold, 72-pt), Comic Sans MS, bold, 18-pt, etc. These fonts are present on the new machine.

Any idea why this is so? I certainly hope that I don’t have to change all my old documents!!!

Thanks!

A similar thing happened to me when I went from 10.3 to 10.4 and when
I checked the font lists, Techno, the particular font that Intaglio
was complaining was missing, was indeed missing from the font list.

I certainly hope that I don’t have to change all my old documents!!!

That’s what I did because my stuff was going to be on the web for
free download and I had a feeling Techno would disappear from other
computers too. But, if yours are files just for your own use, then I
would try to find out if the old fonts cannot be moved under the new
system.

Hi, Schremmer, thanks for the reply.

But the font (“Courier New”) IS on the new system!!!

And if I change the text object to use that font instead of Geneva, then my document looks just like it used to be on the old system!

I’m just wondering why Intaglio changed the font to Geneva in the first place… And also wondering (hoping?) that there is a better way to restore my documents than changing each text object in all the documents!!!

Regards.

Now THAT is something else.

Maybe Nick can say.

About the only thing that comes to my mind is an Apple script but I
am myself applescript illiterate. No, here is another idea I just
had. Open the Intaglio file in Subethaedit and try a find Geneva and
replace with Courier New. Might work. If it does, then writing an
applescript would probably be a lot easier.
