Hi! I notice that Times and other serif fonts looks like bold in browser instead of regular, only if GIF is checked and font obviously became “picture” it looks normal and regular, otherwise is BOLD.
I tried new document-html item- some text- font Time, and in Freeway it looks like regular and nice and so, but in browser it looks like stroke of 1 or 2 pixels is added, or it became bold. I checked every style ( i just have one) and inspector , there is no bold or strong applied to text.
Same goes for caxton action (Miniom Pro) - in freeway is look good but in browser looks like a bold setting.
I have no idea what is wrong.
Please help.
Check to see if maybe you applied the Bold setting to your body or p tags in the main Styles palette. It may also be that you have applied a class-based style to the parent HTML box containing this text. This is easy to do with a single misplaced click. Here’s one way to diagnose this. Highlight some of the “bolded” text, then look in your Inspector, at the T tab all the way to the right on the inspector options. You will see a list of all the styles that apply to that selected text. You can remove individual styles one at a time, or you can explore individual styles by double-clcking the little “lozenge” that has the name of the style in it.

Here is link to my TROUBLE! First paragraph is text html, and second is GIF.
You see the difference?
Gif version IS how this fonts look under normal condition, not that BOLD upper version. And both paragraphs looks exactly like GIF version thin and normal in Freeway, but after publishing, first HTML text became kinda bold
Please help - I do not know what to do.
waltd- I did what you told me but with no lake every style is BOLD off and no additional thing is on that could lead to the problem I am experience.
I am at loss
I’m seeing differences in the rendering of the text “StyleApps” too. That seems heavier. It could be that Freeway’s font rendering is different to that of the browsers - and that is why there is a difference between the graphic and the HTML text.
I tried the text rendering in a couple of other applications:
1 - Photoshop - text rendered looks the same as in Freeway
2 - Intaglio - text rendered looks heavier - more like the appearance in Safari. Not as heavy, but pretty close. I’m certainly seeing the same clubbed feet serifs that Safari generates.
Unless there is some cunningly hidden text-weight declaration in your CSS, it’s more likely to be down to the different way in which different applications handle font rendering. Some appear to be more heavy-handed than others.
Your system antialiasing settings may also affect how text are rendered. Some settings can “bulk out” text more than others. That depends on your screen, and your eyes as well.
NB - Windows will perform more atrocities on your font rendering. It will actually alter the outlines to make it “look better” on a display. You have been warned
