Force index.html to Refresh

I revised our home page. Returning viewers are not seeing the revised home page. They are seeing a heavily pixelated version of the old one. I realize that this can be easily fixed by “refreshing” the page, however I’m worried that they won’t know to do that. Of course this wouldn’t be an issue if they cleared their “cache” before returning.

How to I make it refresh to the new one automatically for them?

btw, I’m sorry to bombard everyone with all my questions! I sure appreciate everyone’s help.

Why not try changing your index.html to index.htm and re-upload.

It may be that the default pages on the server are served index.html, index.htm, index.php etc.
As long as they are coming to yoursite.com and not yoursite.com/index.html this should be worth a try.

All you’d need to do is apply the Page Action ‘No Cache’ to your page. Then it’d force the browser to pull it from the server and not the cache.

Easier than renaming and naming again.

Good call Mitchell.

I’d forgotten about that one.

You can also use the Publish Everything trick someone showed me on this forum.

Hold the Control key and go to File>Publish Everything.

Then, upload your site.
