Form Element Styler Action

This action is excellent - is there any chance of adding Padding options to further style text fields?

Perfect, thanks - got me out of a hole today.

Safari nicely vertically centers a text field, when a fixed height is given, but IE and Firefox don’t. Only solution is to use padding to vertically center.

Just one thing Mike, the text size only up to 14pt is a bit restrictive, for those truly web 2 style massive text fields - any chance of having “any text size” as an option?

(Yes I know I can do all this with CSS, its just muck quicker for small jobs or mockups pages for client doing it this way.)

Hi Mike,

I’ve just downloaded it, many thanks for developing it I’m sure it’ll be
really useful. I’ve already started experimenting with some forms I’m
putting on a new site.

Best wishes Peter

TBH I have never seen the point in having large text in form fields, I find them ugly and like they are being pushed in your face, anyway… at some time I want to look at the action to do another couple of things with it so I can add a field then for others who want to use larger text.

Thanks, glad you find it of use. Personally I find it saves me a load of time when working with forms as I like to give text fields and text areas a border colour and control the length better than the actual field allows.

Tip: If you have several text fields on your form and add border and/or fill colour, or other parameters then do what you need with the action to the first field, then copy and paste any other fields from that first field. No need to add the action again as it will carry over with the copy/paste, you can then select each field to tweak things like the name, value and width but at least it takes the time out of repeating adding all the action parameters content with each field.

Yes I agree for general form work. I thinking of times when you need a unique looking login field for example, when nothing much else on the page is needed.

TBH I have never seen the point in having large text in form fields,
