Form Frustrations

Rocky,

Your form is very simple, if your server permits the ioncube loaders then follow the easiForm tutorial you should have your form up and running very quickly.

BTW, what do you mean ‘ties them all together’? you should use one or the other but not both on the same form.

An alternative is Tim’s PHPfeedback form action if you don’t require the Captcha stuff.

I think this is where I am tripping up:

“Create your form as you would normally (consult the Freeway manual if you are unsure of how to do this) and set up all of the input fields, labels and hidden inputs to your desired design.”

The link to the Freeway Manual does not send me anywhere.

Maybe I just need a Freeway Manual? I could not find “How to Create a Form” in “Using Freeway.”

Hi Rocky,
Sorry about the broken link. I’ll look at correcting that later. You can
download the manuals for Freeway Pro and Express from;
http://www.softpress.com/support/usermanuals.php
If you plan to use the PHP Feedback Form action
(FreewayActions.com | PHP feedback form) then you should make sure
that all of the items you want to encapsulate in the form are all either on the
same layer or aren’t layered items. Having them on separate layers causes the
html items to get split up in the code making it that much harder for the
action to locate the tags and wrap the form item around them.
This will also help with your tab ordering between the form elements although
you can also specify the ordering manually;
http://www.webcheatsheet.com/HTML/controll_tab_order.php
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Tim.

If you use easiForm you can by pass ‘setting the form up’ as the action does all the form set-up for you as it explains in the tutorial, all you need to do is follow the easiForm tutorial to use it… nothing else… it is that simple.
