Format problem when viewing page as php

When I save my Freeway pages as html pages and preview them in Safari, all is well.

However, when I save these pages as php files, upload them to my server and then preview them, I’m noticing two problems.

First, graphic items do not appear. I only see an outline of the graphic item, but not the contents of the item itself.

And second, I lose all html text format info (except boldface). In other words, my html text won’t center, resize or display color (other than default black) as it does when I view the page as html.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I suspect that you literally are uploading the pages yourself, not
using Freeway to do it. Am I right? If so, you’re not uploading
everything that’s needed - images and stylesheets are missing.

Go ahead and use Freeway’s built-in FTP upload feature. It will only
upload what’s changed, and it will remove items that are no longer
required.

How are you uploading this site to your server? It sounds as though
the entire site (including the relationship of one part to another) is
not being mirrored on your server. Freeway writes very “portable”
HTML, using only relative links for most things, and so if you move
the entire Site folder (as Freeway does when it manages its own
upload) to another location, all links made by Freeway will Just Work™.

That fixed it. Thank you!

As you both suspected, I am uploading the files manually. The only reason is my hosting company (EngineHosting.com) only allows SFTP uploads and it doesn’t appear Freeway supports SFTP.

Is there a way around this or am I stuck with uploading my files and folders manually?

Thanks again.

Ah. You could try using Transmit, from Transmit 5
, to set up mirrored folders. That should get around the problem of
uploading the whole thing every time, and it does support SFTP.

Thanks Keith. I’m already using Transmit but not using mirrored folders. Sounds like that would make life a bit easier. Will look into it.

Just train it to ignore Freeway’s _siteinfo file when mirroring, it’s
just wasted bytes otherwise.
