Forms to go and FW question

I like to think I create nice looking sites but what happens behind the scenes is way over my head, so I’m hoping this has a simple answer!

I’ve created a site and form (www.v2sport.co.uk/order) and bought Forms To Go hearing that it made the creation of scripts a doddle! I’ve eventually created a script using FTG but can’t test it because I don’t know what to do with it now.

FTG says to modify the form tag in FW and upload the script.

The FW manual says to get the HTML script from my ISP.

My ISP says they don’t supply scripts and I need to get it elsewhere!

I’ve tried to ‘paste special’ the script created with FTG, but I can only ‘paste markup’ which didn’t appear to have the right effect.

SO…I’m lost, where do I go from here? - where do I get the script from? any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don’t forget this brief video:

I know people have questions on more “advanced” levels, when I have time I’ll see what I can do about it.

Thanks eus and Dan

eus, ‘sweety’ I’ve seen that tutorial but, unless I’m missing something, it doesn’t explain about modifying the forms tag within FW. I’m not exactly sure what a tag is, but I know I don’t already have one within my form setup. The FW manual says I should request one from my ISP but my ISP doesn’t supply them - so where now?

Dan, I’ve downloaded the movie thanks, but it’s blank! I’m currently downloading an update to my Quicktime to see if that helps.

Yeah, almost 300 people viewed that Forms To Go video and true it’s brief, but it shows you how to add what you need. Unfortunately I didn’t have a server to test it on, but I encouraged people to drop messages on here if it didn’t work and I haven’t heard anything from anyone about it not working, so that’s could be a good thing.

I do see people want more of the advanced features explained, but since I haven’t really mastered them I’m in the middle of a few trial and errors.

I hope it works out.

Just thought I better say if you want to test forms to go and you are using the PHP script out put then you can use MAMP as the server environment and in turn test it locally on your mac

you forgive me, don’t you?

you don’t need anything from your isp as far as i know, i give my fields a right name, publish and use the fields in f.t.g.
i follow the mov and tut from the data base.

have a nice evening.

Thanks all

Dan J, the movie worked this time and it told me everything I needed to know - thanks - saved me a load of time.

It would appear that with a combination of the FW manual and FTG, I was expecting the form setup to be a lot more complicated than it actually was - where all I had to do was type the name of my script - voila, it worked!

Thanks again
