And again, I am doubly confused, because I thought that the person doing the asking was unemployed. Sorry for the noise. I have not been unemployed since 1984, but only because I have almost consistently been at least partly self-employed. But someone who asks you to do something, knows you are not employed, and expects you to do it as a favor anyway, is no friend. I agree.

And that was my point.
A friend who knows your situation (unemployed) and still expects you to work for free is not a true friend.
To be fair I offered as she’s setting up a retail business and I offered to keep my web building skills and graphic design up to speed. Without going in to lots of detail and where or why I’m in the situation I am, I’m hoping the referral system (word of mouth) will work together with my own self promotion of my skills.
