We’ve just released a new update. There are some important fixes and improvements in these builds, particularly if you’re on Lion – so go get them now!
What’s new?
LOCALIZATION
• Fixed a localization error in the Simple Site Search Actions
ACTIONS
• Fixed a JavaScript error in the Showcase Action
• Fixed a problem that caused the Freeway Shop Actions to fail Link Verification
OTHER
• Dialogs no longer use 100% CPU time
• The Check for Updates menu item is available when Freeway is registered.
• In OSX Lion version 10.7.3 Freeway no longer draws icons outside the bounds of the scrolling list that contains them.
SHOWCASE
• Switching to the large image view while editing a caption will now display the image corresponding to the caption instead of the most recently selected image
• Image smoothing within Showcase and the exported file are now consistent with each other
• No longer replaces file extensions when using passthrough
• No longer check HFS file types but rely on file extension to determine if a file is valid for use, reducing the time it takes to load very large external libraries
• Load external libraries for the whole application instead of individual documents to reduce the time it takes to open or create documents
Have just tryed to install FW 5.6.4 - Downloaded no problem, went to install and keep getting message ‘Freeway is in Use’ Made sure that FW was NOT open and tryed again. Same message kept on showing.
Closed everthing down and did a restart. Went to install. Same problem. Did another restart and saw this time that my FW icon from task bar at the bottom of my screen had gone.
Sent Softpress a support email and they asked if I could send them a screen record of what I was doing. Because I had to go out, I didn’t get round to it till this afternoon. Set everything up, started the recording and push me over with a feather, it installed. No problems and it seems to be working.
One word of warning: Don’t do upgrades at 7 in the morning…
No, I didn’t send a report to Softpress because that is a fairly common situation, having to delete the app first before the upgrade can be installed, and not just with Freeway. It seems like if an app (or certain apps) has already been opened, maybe it leaves something running, even after you quit, and the updater thinks it’s still open. I don’t know, but throwing the app in the trash works, and I’m not sure it’s not just something conflicting on my computer. It doesn’t always happen the same way.
