i just installed Freeway 5 Express from a CD—then downloaded the 5.4.2 upgrade.
A manual called “using freeway 5” came with the CD. And in the manual (c. 2008) is a tutorial. Following tutorial instructions i launched Freeway Express for the first time, opened “Colors”, selected Color Palette (middle).
Here is the issue:
The drop down menu for Color Palette reads, Palette: Crayons, Developer, Apple. The tutorial shows an option called WEB SAFE COLORS. However—there is NO OPTION for web safe colors. Please would someone tell me how to access web safe colors?
Is this version and or tutorial faulty??! Thanks.
This palette is the same Color palette that you’ll see in many other OS X applications.
The default contents of this popup come from OS X itself; although new lists can be added by users, I don’t think it’s possible to remove OS-defined lists.
Thank you for all replies!
i am running OS X 10.5.8; iMac Intel; Freeway 5.4.2 just-out-of-the-box.
True this palette is the same Colour palette as other OS X apps. However,
my question is this—
If you look at top left of page 34 in the tutorial-Colour Palette-middle icon-unless mistaken, there is supposedly an option from the List pop-up menu called Web Safe Colours. The tutorial even mentions the option of typing in the code for the color. And this is supposed to be for Express. Is it even possible to specify code for color in Freeway Express? How else do you specify specific web colour in Freeway Express?? Thanks!

My guess is that there is something specific on your system which means you are not seeing that particular palette listed - I know not what the cause might be.
If I’m reading the tutorial correctly, the web-safe color option is only provided as an alternative to entering the RGB values given at the end of the previous page of the manual into the Color Sliders/RGB sliders area of the Color palette.
You should be able to continue the tutorial quite happily without needing to use the web-safe color picker.
