i’m anxious to download 5 on Thursday. But where can I get manual updates or information on the new features and how to use them?

I’ve just downloaded the manual from the Softpress homepage. All very nice, but it glosses over CSS somewhat. I’d pay good money for a book dedicated to creating CSS based sites in Freeway.

So would I!
Seriously, though, I still find it hard to reconcile CSS with the
Freeway interface. There’s a lot in there, but you really need to
have an idea of what it’s trying to do to make it work properly.
Unfortunately, this means that although I choose to use Freeway to
avoid all the code in web design, I have found I need to at least
have a basic understanding of the underlying principles in order to
get ahead.
I really recommend two books by Dan Cederholm.
Bulletproof Web Design: Improving Flexibility and Protecting Against
Worst-Case Scenarios with XHTML and CSS (ISBN-10: 0321509021,
ISBN-13: 978-0321509024)
Web Standards Solutions: The Markup and Style Handbook (ISBN-10:
1590593812, ISBN-13: 978-1590593813)
These are aimed at the code warrior, with lots of code examples, but
they are written so well that most Freeway users keen to learn how to
integrate CSS design into their work should be able to follow it.
Both books have helped me over the past few weeks of playing with
Freeway 5 to actually understand how to create flexible and
accessible designs without needing to rely on markup in the layout.
The guys and girls at Softpress Towers have made a truly valiant
attempt to get all the complexity of CSS layout into a user-friendly
but powerful program which hides most of the code work from the
designer. However, as Freeway matures, to get the best from it you
may really need to have some basic code knowledge.

The ‘Using Freeway 5 Guide’ is included in the Freeway 5 download, in
the ‘Documentation’ folder, which also includes tutorial files.
However, while much of the Freeway 4 content still seems to apply, I
for one, eagerly await an updated Reference Manual covering the new
features in more detail. Which brings the question: will there be
updated pages available for those who purchased a hard copy of the FW4
manual?
