Freeway 6 Queries

Been using 6 for a couple of weeks, I have a couple of questions.

  1. Why do images and graphics load into the picture box at 50% size

  2. In older versions of FW, on the mac using the keys ‘command-alt-shift-F’ brings the image into the picture box pro-rata, doesn’t seem to work in 6. Its one of those commands that is the same as Quark I found useful.

I use command-e to put images into the selected image box. Then I
right-click (control-click) the image to reveal the Contextual Menu which
will allow a variety of scaling options (Fit to Box, Fit Box to Image,
Percentage Scale - either proportionally or not, etc.).

I don’t know about the other - images are 100% for me, but I use Pass Thru
almost exclusively.

Best,

Mike
I totally agree, have to say when FW6 was released, they took away a feature I used all the time. Why would just Fit to box be useful when it’s most likely to distort the image?

SP: please bring back command-option-shift F to fit proportionately to box, it’s second nature and I really miss it…!

Not just me then - when updating software, why take away something that was there on older versions of the software?
Don’t get it.

Anyone from Softpress prepare to comment please?

I’m not commenting in any capacity except a long-term user – the only reason a keyboard shortcut was removed was to avoid a conflict with a system-provided or otherwise popular shortcut. If an application sets Command - C as a shortcut, that’s going to be hijacked by the system-wide Copy command, to make a ridiculous example of this. I don’t know where Shift Option Command F is defined elsewhere, but my muscle memory shakes its fists to heaven and demands that Freeway put it back as well. I cannot figure out where this would conflict, but then I don’t run the latest System either.

There seems to me some other seemingly small user interface inconsistencies
that still need ironing out before they become permanent potholes. My gripe
has to do with how the Extended dialog now has two forms - the old where
command-n opens the dialog for new properties (and amazingly they are
copy-and-paste-able) then this new version where “new” is now “add” and is
NOT copyable or has any command-key counterpart.

One gets the sense the UI team are secluded in a far-away corner of the
room.

Maybe with Lion and ML ⌥⇧+F does something else. I wouldn’t know as I’m stuck with SL for the foreseeable future.

Hi Kryten

I’m still snow leopard, still works on my older versions.

Exactly Mike, I would have to wave goodbye to all my Adobe CS5 apps just for starters, not to mention having to switch to their odious subscription / cloud plans with snail’s pace net connection. I would like to be able to use Exhibeo though.
