What happens if you create a new document? Also, when it quits, does
it crash Freeway hard enough to open up a “send report” dialog box?
If so, click on Send Report, but then when you get to the report
stage (and this is all from memory – I haven’t seen one of these in
quite a while) there should be an option to save the report or at
least a window where you can copy and paste it. Send that report to
Softpress (support[at]softpress.com) and they should be able to
advise you further.
Other troubleshooting tips:
Fonts are a primary concern. If you use any third-party font
management software, try disabling all but the core system fonts and
see what happens then. Another way to test this is to create a new
user, log in as that user, and try opening the file as that user.
(You’ll need to move the file into your /Users/Shared folder first,
or your new user won’t be able to see or access the file.)
Another issue can be corrupted graphics. This will be harder to
diagnose if the file just won’t open at all. Most often this problem
manifests with a document that can be opened, edited, and saved, but
will crash Freeway when you try to publish.
One last thing to try – does your trouble document have a backup?
Look for a file next to the document with the extension ‘fwbackup’.
Try opening that: hold down the Option key and select Open Backup
from the main menu, then navigate to the document. This will be the
last time you successfully opened the document, so if you made
further changes from there, they will be lost in this version.

4.4.2, Pro 5.1.3 and the latest upgrade for Pro 5.
HELP!
