Freeway quitting

Hi All,

Just had a scary moment with Freeway 5 quitting on me whilst uploading.

I had just added a folder for images (called images) with a blank master page (also called images, to keep things simple!), saved the file and then uploaded it to the server.

Then it went and quit on me whilst uploading. I have got into the habit of saving regularly, especially with the new Mac Pro, much quicker than my old G4 450!

I’ve sent a support message to Softpress detailing the steps to get Freeway to quit, so hopefully a fix will be forthcoming.

Has anyone else had scary moments like these?

Steve.

Oh yes, but not all of them associated with Freeway!

Plus, I do save every time I complete a task i.e. type a large text block - save, import and few pics - save etc.
But, after it quit I opened it up, none of my changes were there - neither were they in the back-up file which showed a really old version of the site.

I am having episodes of FW5 instability – not all the time, but sometimes I reach a point where the app quits so frequently it becomes pointless to work with it.

However, I have another program which exhibits similar “crashiness” and the programmers of that app have recommended this solution: log out then back in again, and that magically relieves the app’s hiccuping. Remembering this advice, I try the same with Freeway and stability is restored.

At least till next time

I had a situation yesterday where Freeway Pro 5 locked up and I had to force quit. I’ve never seen this before from Freeway, but I was doing something I hadn’t below also. I was leaving the page in preview mode while I repeatedly edited styles in the style editor. At one point during this process I got a warning that the file couldn’t be found (even though the file was there) and no preview was generated which locked up Freeway forcing me to force quit.

After force quiting I double clicked on the file to start up Freeway again with no problem.
