Freeway Selling through Drop Down Menu

Hi guys! This is my first post.

I’m new freeway and i’m trying to figure out how to sell my tshirts online. The setup of my buy function only sells one type of shirt if theres one buy button. How do i get a drop down menu that could select size and then when they click buy, it buys the coresponding size?

Say i select small in the drop down, then i click buy, and it adds it to my cart.

I’m using MAL at the moment for handling shopping carts n stuff, is this the simplest method, or do you have other reccomendations?

Thankyou,
ben

The FW Shop suite of actions contains further actions that are used in conjunction with the Ebuy form action - these include E quantity and E product variation (different sizes, colours etc) which will give you what you want - and which all works with Mal’s.

You should also have the Freeway Shop User Guide with your copy of FW or go here to download the complete reference guide http://softpress.com/support/freeway5referenc.php

thanks david, i read the reference guide, but it was unable to answer my question.

I want to make a DROP DOWN MENU and use it to select different sizes of shirts. The actions that freeway offers for menus dont include a drop down menu.
Also, it does not tell me know to add eproduct variation that doesnt have to do with quantity but size.

here is the page for reference:

Give a look at Tim Plumb’s Mal’s Actions. The Softpress Cart stuff is actually a cut-down version of Tim’s more “pro” Actions. I believe you can do just about anything with those.

If you have a look at this page

http://www.totallytartan.net/order.html

you will see the FW actions in use

Here the dropdown is used to select a different Tartan but just as easily could be a size selector.

The actions used are E-Buy Form with E-Quantity and E-Product variation

The Form action determines the product which contains the EQ and EPV actions which determine quantity and variation - which in your case would be quantity and size.

The form action is applied to a table while the other 2 are inserted into cells in that table - in my example anyway.

and i think it either fw action or Tim’s suit…
( isn’t it?)

Hi Eus,
Yes. Unfortunately you can’t mix and match the two action sets as they
function in quite different ways. Although the Sofpress actions are
based on my original code, Softpress put a lot of effort into
smoothing out the user experience. Some of the more complex functions
got reworked or even removed to ensure the process was as easy as it
could be.
The Mals actions equivalent of the E-product variation action is
called Mal’s multi-price select and adds the ability to change the
item’s value and shipping costs based on the user’s selection in the
list. All of this makes the actions a bit more complex but also a bit
more powerful.
Regards,
Tim.
