I am by no means cutting edge - if you or your clients don’t need the latest greatest mumbo jumbo, you could probably run a current build indefinitely on a current (or even obsolete) Mac. I’m running and updating six sites using FW 5.5 Pro on a G5 PowerMac and I don’t plan to stop, especially since I can’t buy an upgrade to FW for an intel Mac now.
