FW5 Form Elements Resized by FW6

Freeway 6 resizes form elements in your Freeway 5 document.

In my test document, an text field that was 484x112 pixels in FW5 is now 277x20 in FW6. A text area that was 296x225 in FW5 is now 172x212 in FW6. Fairly major changes to an item’s dimensions, with no warning.

So check those form elements carefully. If you are using an Action to apply CSS styling to the form element, you may be relying on them being a certain width and height. Make notes of those in FW5 before opening the document in FW6.

On the subject of forms I was wondering if we still need to use Walter’s FreezeFormItem action in Freeway 6? FreezeFormItem - ActionsForge

All the best

Hi Gordon,

You don’t, no. You can now size your form elements using CSS in the Inspector palette o/

Also, if your form items had Actions applied to them in 5.5, we automatically set the CSS width and height to the item.

Cheers,
Joe
