Gap between text fields

Hi
This is driving me crazy. I am simply trying to place two textfields next to each other in a form, horisontally, with (almost) no gap between them.
I need to collect my visitors first-and lastname in the two textfields…just like it is seen in so many forms out there.
However, when I preview the form and textfields in my Safari browser - there’s a huge gap between the text fields.
What can I do.
I have contacted the Freeway support, and they came up with several “solutions”!.

I have tried to insert the text fields in a table.
I have downloaded and installed Freeways Freeze Add on.
I have tried to group the two fields.
Nothing works.

Any other idears to solve the problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would use a table if using a form.

I have sent you an image of what it looks like in FW (very basic
example) and then what the same looks like in Preview in Freeway, you
just need to do the same thing to get what is shown in the image.

Personally I think is best to have a few pixels between fields so they
are less confusing, as per the example.

Thanks Mike - appreciate your response.
However, I am trying to place my text fields NEXT to each other (horisontally) with no or little gap between them, when previewed - not below each other (vertically).
…just can’t figure out to do that, without the gap growing 3-4 times when previewed in the Safari browser.
Thanks

It’s the same principal, just insert one after the other… as the
second example I sent. OK, these are not touching but they are fairly
close.

Do so: Select the text fields and in the Inspector Panel, check ‘Layers’, so they will turn into layers.
Now you resize the first text field so it will go way into the other text field. Preview it over and over again while trying to find the correct size.

This is the only way I have figured out of doing this.

Yep, that actually works - if you’re running pro.
Express does not seem to have this feature (?).
Thanks again

This defiantly works… thank you and thank you to who ever asked…
ALso,
what about up and down?

If you look at my contact page of http://www.grdesigns.net you can see the major spaces between lines… and there is no shifting. The spaces between some lines are way too big and need to be adjusted…

Thank you again for all of your wonderful help
