Google Analytics Error

Hi guys,

I was trying to paste an Google Analytics code in to a web page and I’m getting an error that its too many characters.

I have done this before and it works fine, has anyone had this issue?

Scratching my head…

Are you using Legacy or just the regular? Make sure you tick the box if you are using Legacy. Are you using the GA Action for it or are you pasting it in manually using Markup? Typically with Markup you don’t have any problem because the Markup entry box doesn’t care what you paste in there. If you’re using the action you just have to put in that account number thing in the code snippet the give you. Usually something with UA in it.

Hi,
there are instructions here which tell you what to do with the Action.

Thanks guys - its not legacy and I’m using the action in Freeway Pro.

I have done it before but now I just get the errors… hmmm.

It seems like my Freeway has been a bit unstable lately… anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Fuz

Hi Fuz,

Make sure you only enter the UAxxxx-xxx part of the code, anything
more than that and Freeway will say the code entered is too long. If
that still fails, let me know what you are entering and I’ll take a
look.

With regards to stability, Freeway has been more stable as of late
than ever. If you have any specific problems then please do let us (at
Softpress support) know so they can be fixed.

Regards,

Joe
