In my design of a single page for an image in portrait orientation, I have the Home icon and the Link to Page icons to the right of the image, to flush with the lower limit of the image. The browsers however, both Safari and Firefox, push it below that line. Why?
There are 2 text boxes above those graphics. The lower one, close to the graphics, only 1 line (containing my file name). Then a larger box with the image caption. It looks like it is the amount of text, or the number of carriage returns, in this box, which controls the displacement of the graphics.
Is it not possible to sort of encapsulate the content of this box, keeping it from pushing other items?
But you should avoid using repeated carriage returns to create space between blocks of text.
Hm - as fare as I can see there is no other way to ensure line breaks at specified positions, is there?
I would also like an option that the CR fed a new line, but not a new paragraph, i.e. doubling the line space. I tried option-return, but it made no difference.
Happy Easter
Use a Shift+Return for a new line and take the Width Can Grow and Height Can Shrink settings off your text boxes. Just make sure these text boxes are wide enough to contain your line of text.
All single_image pages in portrait orientation. Sorry. It is first now that I can see that my phrasing in the OP will lead to the misunderstanding that it is only one particular page. Also I had forgotten that in my FW document I had changed the naming of the masters from English to German, where “Einzelbild…hoch” means “Single image…portrait”.
“Use a Shift+Return for a new line”
So it’s Shift instead of Option! Thank you.
And a happy Easter - Hening
That eliminates the double spacing between lines. But the Home and Link to File icons are still pushed below the flush line which is the lower edge of the image.
“take the Width Can Grow and Height Can Shrink settings off your text boxes”
It looks like I have to change this for every single image? Re-apply Master leads to an empty page. I thought I had understood that changes in the master would be carried to the single pages even after they were created? Or did I get that wrong?
Concerning formatting of text: Is it correct that I should not use e.g. italics for just a part of the text in the same box? It seems to work…
