Graphics / Table

Good Afternoon. This is a continuation of a thread I started the other day about pixels and size.

I did a form in freeway and then printed per Keiths instructions… perfect thank you.

But I and my client found that the print and the graphics were not sharp.
I then ended up doing the table in FW ( I like the choices) and exporting the side piece from FW to pages via gif.
I then had to fix the graphics by grabbing them from a pdf which I was given, in ps then saving them - and putting them into pages.

whew… lots o work… it is done…

is there a simpler ( i know there is) way of achieving the crisp graphics, easy table in a way that it is 15 steps less??

LOL

I have the form uploaded so you can see what I mean…

thank you.

Yes. Do NOT use Freeway for this job! SERIOUSLY!
Freeway is a stunningly great program, but this is absolutely not
what it is meant for.

If you want crisp results in print, use a print layout program. Get
Apple’s iWorks '09; for $79 you get Pages (which is what you need)
plus Numbers and Keynote.
Seriously, while it isn’t the right tool for creating a commercial
magazine such as Newsweek or MacUser, Pages does an excellent job.
You’ll be able to make crisp, high-resolution page layouts in next to
no time and generate perfect, ready-to-use PDFs directly.

Julie, you will be amazed at how right this solution is.

I used pages for pasting and putting all together. How is their table?
I looked at it and did not see all the options as the fw table.
I love pages!!

First of all, it really doesn’t matter how good Freeway’s table
features are as you will not be able to make a good layout for print
work using that tool. Just stop trying.

Second, I’d say Pages’ table feature is actually better than
Freeway’s. But also look at using boxes pasted into the flow ot text,
and independent graphic and text boxes. Explore the Arrange > Align
Objects and the Arrange > Distribute Objects options, and - very
important for good design - use guides dragged out from the rulers.

I love pages!!

I was under the impression that you didn’t have Pages from an earlier
note in which you said:

Lol I don’t even own word!
Pages
Illustrator etc.

So what do you have?
Actually, if you have Pages it doesn’t really matter what else is
available. It is very well designed for this kind of work. Use it for
the complete job, start to finish.
