For those of you who have your website hosted by Have Host, you might
want to check if it is up and running. I can’t access my site, stats or
control panel. Maybe it’s just me. Is anyone else having trouble?

Hi Steve!
We are dealing with a client who was sending out thousands of emails from Outlook - and this is causing the server you are on to hiccup, as it were. Should be resolved momentarily. Sorry about the inconvenience caused.
Cheers!
James
and a little later:
Let’s hope… The client was trying to send 4500 email from within OUTLOOK - BAD PC-user!!! Argh!
All is well now!,
Just got to get the blacklisting sorted!
Cheers Steve

When I tried to send to my me.com account I got a Mail Delivery Failed message that implies that the server has been blocked.
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<email@hidden>:

Has anyone told James this? I would think he should know.

Yes, James knows about the blacklisting. I emailed him last night about it. It was caused by someone trying to send 4500 emails from Outlook. This caused the server to clog up and because of the amount of emails the server address was deemed to be a spam source and so blacklisted. Everything should be ok now as I can send emails from my SBDesign account which was on the same ip address and so blacklisted.
Let’s hope the person who caused the trouble realises that trying to send that many emails might cause a few problems.
Steve.

For everyones information it was one of my email accounts that had been spoofed by a 419er and was being used to send thousands of spam emails. I have been in touch with James and he knows all about it.
Completely unavoidable on my part. Could happen to anyone, just hope it never does as it completely clogs up your Mail app with returned messages.
You might want to call your unthoughtful client’s attention to your Fair Usage Policy - assuming you have one!

I’m extremely glad/relieved the blacklisting issue has been resolved!
Presumably the spammer had your email password to get access to and send
through the SMTP server? Or?
Most ISPs will only allow a limited number of mailing list type emails
within a specific time period. Through another ISP I’m limited to 250 in
any 15 minute block. I only ever include a tiny attachment, such as a
.gif logo a few K in size to keep everyone’s bandwidth down.
