Have-Host?

Folks

I’m looking into switching ISP’s. I’ve emailed the folks at Have-Host a few times without an answer. But then I may be doing something wrong in contacting them through their website? Has anyone been in contact with them lately?

Thanks
Gary

PS… the email ping feature is just what was needed to bring the forum back to life.

What email are you using? Try email@hidden
I always find James to be very helpful and quick to respond - sometimes I think he doesn’t sleep.
His site also lists various other methods of contacting him eg instant messaging etc.
He is also a frequent visitor here and will probably see this.

Of course I didn’t realise the email address would be hidden. Try this
T: 514.525.4453 F: 514.379.0366 E: james at zentiments.com
or support at havehost.ca

Thanks. I suspect there is a glitch in the online mail system. I’ll get to James at the zentiments addy

Speaking of email addresses being hidden – would anyone object to members being able to see e-mail addresses on the Web, if they were logged in? I am currently replacing all e-mail addresses with email (at) hidden on the Web, but that’s just a filter, and I could toggle it off and on just like the reply forms, depending on whether you were logged in at the time or not.

I have no problem with that, considering that at least two of my email addresses are already scattered all about

Personally, I have no problem with that - not for people who are
logged in. The steps you’ve taken to prevent spammers from finding
their way in seem to be far better than regular phpBB stuff.

(Would it be worth considering link-scrambling the addresses anyway,
or is that unnecessary due to your existing security measures?)

I agree - I have no objection as long as only people that are logged in can see them - no Bots!

I don’t have a problem with that - I know this is a bit off the original topic ( although btw I use Have-Host and have had nothing but speedy service ) - I did suggest to Finlay that would it be possible to contact members via their details box ? - ie. have a small area just like the one I am using now which would then send an email direct to that member without me seeing their email address ?

Not trying to cause more work Walter - honest !

Gary

ps - I would also like to say how much Freewaytalk has improved over the past ten days or so - Well done to Walter, Finlay and Co. -

Thanks. I think I said at one point early on, you have to launch at
some point. There’s no way to make everyone happy in the process, but
if you wait until you have every possible angle covered, you never
get anything out there.

Hello! Well, it seems I “Have” been missed! LOL! For some reason, I am not getting the emails from the forum - though I imagine it’s more to do with me not setting the forum prefs than anything…! I have emailed Gary…

Thanks to David M. for letting me know about this thread’s inclusion of me!
