I’ve been out of it for a little while and have recently upgraded to v5.02 as I have a number of sites I have to update.
Here’s my issue[s]:
In FW 4 Pro I used an action called (I think), “Pic to Lightbox” - particularly for a page on my site called The Gallery. In FW5.02 it no longer works. Is there an updated action for this floating around?
I use Spaces on my Mac [I’m running OS X 10.5.2] and when I move from my web space to another space and back again, I lose the floating palettes in FW. Everytime. Is there anyway to fix this?
I’m using Weaver’s Pic to Lightbox Image (v0.93) on two sites I’ve updated to FreewayPro 5.0.2 and the action still seems to be working for me.
Sometimes I’ve found it helps to make the part of the page that contains the images a layer, especially if you are using some of the new transition effects. Lightbox also doesn’t seem to work until the full page has been loaded - currently my pages take a while to load because FreewayPro.com, the home of the excellent FreeCounter, is offline.
Umberto is correct, the lightbox effect is ‘failing’ as there are duplicated instances of the prototype libraries on the page.
I will see if it is logistically reasonable for me to update the Action to take previous library instances into account.
Note to all: I will upload an un-encoded version of the Action a bit later today, meaning that the code will be plainly visible and editable. If anyone feels capable and willing to make modifications to the Action, please let me know and I will subsequently update the central version for everyone else’s benefit. I will be glad to integrate user-contributed fixes; please do not individually publish this action.
Thanks guys… OK, here’s what I found: I had to ‘relink’ the images to make it work again. In other words, I remade from scratch all the occasions where I used that action on my site. It’s a little laborious but that seemed to fix it.
My other problem of disappearing floating palettes after switching Spaces hasn’t been resolved. It looks like a problem in FW5.0.2 to me, but damn it’s really frustrating and hobbles your production, as you have to open each Inspector palette you had before you switched.
Is there any help from Freeway engineers out there. Anyone else use Spaces and experiences this problem?
