The CSS menus are at the top (the ones on the left side are just temporary while working).
On the first site page, the material is higher up on the page than on others, and when the menu drops down, it’s transparently over the page content. If I had a solid background for the menus, that wouldn’t be a problem. But playing with the action’s settings, I still haven’t been able to get the background a solid color – I can change the color of the links once I get the solid background so that they’ll show up.
Firstly I would suggest that you change the size of your menu.
In Main Menu Settings under Size and Shape there is a setting for Width - if you Check Use Content Width then your menu text wont break over 2 lines. But experiment with different amounts.
To get your colour background in the drop downs go to Sub Menu Settings and in the Background Section (tick it to activate) choose a colour in the top selector (you can also chooses a different colour if you wish in the hover section)
Hi Martin,
On the CSS Menu action, select sub menu settings,
then in the action dialog box, check the “background” box, and click the little triangle to the the left to show the background options. With this option checked you should be able to select a color option for both the regular state of the menu and the hover state, (the state when a mouse is rolled over one of the sub menus).
You also might want be sure that your entire css menu is in front of the the text on the page, to do this, select the CSS menu and press control and click, a small window should pop up, then choose “bring to front”.
Thanks so much for the information. It was just what I needed.
