HELP with modular page layout

Dan,

If you download a cop of iSquint you can just drag the movie into it, select ‘Optimize for iPod’ and the quality you want from the scale, this will then save a copy of the movie optimised in mp4

iSquint is free or you can upgrade to the more advanced version ‘Visual Hub’ but iSquint is what I use and it works great.

Cool, thanks Mike. I have VisualHub 1.34 but I’ll take a look at iSquint later today.

I find it easier to have iTunes download all new videos for me without
going to find them somewhere. I watch them on my laptop mostly but
that format would allow me to also have a choice as well as everything
in one place. Before this thread I was unaware of your videos. I do
have all the Softpress ones.

So I need to shrink them down for iPod format to 640x480? I guess
out of all the specs that David listed (thanks for that).

How does one get one’s items onto the iTunes store? Would people
watch them on their iPhone’s / iPod Touch’s if they were? Would it
be beneficial to have a mobile version people could download on
Freewaycast?

Just trying to get my video’s and my name out there.

I’ll take a look into getting into the iTunes store and then I will convert out my video’s plus the other 15+ I got laying around here so people can get to them easier.

I did a little homework on the iPod video format and am currently trying to figure out if people are on 3G speeds or remain on the EDGE network. This would be reduced then if people used iTunes to download them instead of iTunes on their phones.

Interesting idea.

I’d certainly subscribe, which would mean I’d get the movies
downloaded automatically. I might put them on my iPhone or I might
watch them only on my Mac. But it would certainly encourage me to
watch them.

Make it the same video file and they can see it from there as well as
get it via the iTunes store. But the whole iTunes thing is the
easiest way for someone to get it and to know when new ones are
available.

I suspect most people would use iTunes on their Macs to subscribe,
and if they want to watch on their iPhone or iPod they’d sync the
feed.

So go for quality.

I would put my vote in for the iTunes first then sync to iPhone. I
might not ever watch them on the iPhone as I would have access to a
separate computer next to the one Freeway is running on. This way I
can follow along while I watch.

I would most assuredly watch them on my iPod. In fact, that’s where I
mostly watch these videos, while I’m sitting in the car waiting on my
daughter to come out from her piano lesson (30 minutes); while I’m
waiting in the car because my husband has to “quickly” run into Home
Depot for just one thing (45 minutes); while I’m waiting for the train
to go by (15 minutes); while I’m waiting at the airport for …
anything at all (1-12 hours); when I’m in the car on a family vacation
and the kids are fighting in the back seat (1-12 hours).
